Starting at the age of 7, I started tinkering with electronics. I recorded guitar for the first time at the age of 10. When I was 12 years old, I started jamming with my grandparents and my best friend. I fell in love with playing music and dreamed of recording music for a living. For the first time, I recorded a band that wasn't mine when I was in high school and have continued to do so.
I graduated from Electronics Engineering Technology on the Dean's Honor Roll and received scholarships throughout my studies. I was already recording bands, so my next dream was getting to work on music equipment as a job (specifically awesome tube guitar amps). Within a month of completing my electronics program, I had my dream job. I got hired making $10/hr at Long & McQuade in their repair shop. Not long after, I managed the shop and ended up working there for about 6 years. By the time I quit, I had quite a few custom electronic pieces out to customers throughout Canada under the company name Wizzo.
At this time, I had toured with my bands a lot and was thirsty for the thrill of live concerts. I concentrated my efforts on mixing live concerts and recording bands. I also extensively studied acoustics and helped a ton of people with their designated recording studio designs. This is still a service I offer, but don't invest much of my time into it. I always continued to tinker with electronics and took on repairs when I had time.
Fast forward to today and I'm REALLY enjoying working on electronics again. I'm studying everyday and working towards completing designs for some guitar amplification products. This is where Wright Amplification was born.
